Over a decade ago, my work as special counsel to the Moreland Commission to Investigate Public Corruption unwittingly set me on a collision course with then Governor Andrew Cuomo.
zThere are so many good candidates running for. mayor all better than Cuomo and Adams. We have a good choice: Brad Lander, Jessica Ramos, Zellnor Myrie, and Zohran Mamdani. all better than Cuomo and Adams Plus. more. democrats that are. likely better than Adams and Cuomo.
under NYC’s Ranked Choice Voting system ( https://www.nycvotes.org/how-to-vote/ranked-choice-voting/ ) you can vote for multiple mayoral candidates in order of preference. So… the question above on who to vote for is actually kind of simple: just vote for the not corrupt ones! :-) ALL the ones you like. And against the corrupt ones. So vote FOR Brad Lander AND Jessica Ramos AND Zellnor Myrie AND Zohran Mamdani in whatever order of preference you like. BUT MAKE SURE NOT TO VOTE FOR EITHER Cuomo OR Adams, NOT EVEN IN YOUR LAST SLOT. :-)
Thank you for this article. We must absolutely stop this Trump-lite corrupt bully Cuomo from opportunistically barging in late in the game and further screwing up our beloved city.
Thanks Janos for spreading knowledge and truth in an age where sources of such things are becoming scarce. I believe in New Yorkers! I hope enough people will get their heads out of their crypto-lined a-holes to notice another crook and demand better.
There are at least seven other people running, from a Democratic Socialist to an independent centrist. Most of them have raised significant funds, built campaigns, and shared policy platforms. I encourage you to check out all of their campaigns and see which one resonates with you.
A friend sent this to me because I like Cuomo and voted for him for Governor, but in fairness to all of you I live in Westchester County and can't vote for mayor. Sadly, he's not his father and I hate what I just read but, is there really an honest politician? What changed my mind was the last statement about knocking heads with the current person renting the White House. I never say his name. To me he is the POS.
Thanks, Bonnie. I believe there are absolutely politicians with integrity. It's giving up on our democracy to say "everyone is corrupt." For example, most of the candidates running for mayor have a history of standing up for reforms and don't have corruption scandals in their history.
I also don't think sending a corrupt, self-absorbed egomaniac to Gracie Mansion will help in leading NYC while this president is in office.

Well said, Andrew!

Pass. it on: no ranking in the primary for Adams and Cuomo. They shouldn’t even be on the ballot.
